Football/Conference League – West Ham qualified for the Round of 32!

Contrarily to their performances in the Premier League, West Ham is on the way to a beautiful journey in Conference League. They have won this Thursday evening against Anderlecht to make it 4 wins in 4 games.

From the first minute of the game, West Ham played with a big intensity, stealing the ball quickly and obtaining a lot of fouls. One of them led to a free-kick. Saïd Benrahma scored to make it 1-0. 15 minutes later, after an Emerson’s run on the left wing, Jarrod Bowen finishes and the Hammers take a 2-goals lead at half-time. The second half, nonetheless, was of a much poorer quality. With less intensity and less precision, the game, however, seemed easy for the London team. At the 89th minute, Anderlecht obtained a penalty, transformed by Sebastiano Esposito.

The game was not only played on the pitch. Some confrontations happened between the fans. In fact, both fans were throwing chairs or smoke grenade to the opposite stand. The Belgian team takes all these responsibilities, and their communication’s director said: “We want to apologise to West Ham. We don’t tolerate this and strongly condemn this behaviour. We will take it up with UEFA and our own fans.”

West Ham is already qualified for the Round of 32. Anderlecht, from his side, still has to play Silkeborg for the qualification. The Danish club has two more points than the Belgian team at the moment.
